100 Word Review: Hearts Awakening

My last two reads were a little heavy, so I was hoping for something easy and light this go around. I won Hearts Awakening from a blog giveaway, so what's lighter than a free book? This is my first Delia Parr book, but probably not my last. Here's my 100 word review...

A spinster with exceedingly plain looks and nowhere to go.

A handsome widower with two young sons, a broken heart and spirit, and apple orchards needing his full attention.

An insulting proposition...only a business deal...nothing more...

A challenging cookstove...blistered hands and burned bread...

Gossip...Scandal...Secrets...Storms...

Yearning...Faith...Prayer...

Misunderstandings...Assumptions...Hurtful words...Unbridled anger...

Carved initials in a family apple tree...

"Poor Thing"...Griddle Cakes...Apple Fritters...

River Stones...a Sunday House...

A second chance with a lost love?

Inward beauty always shines through.

A quick read that is a somewhat predictable, but sweet story.

i am & i am not. lol.
well i started to read it 2weeks ago and i got to chapter 3 and then stopped. (not bc i didn't like it but bc i have readers ADD...)
i then went to borders and found another book because i couldn't resist!!!! SO now i am reading both books!!! ahhh...! i am never going to finish & i was watching Starz tv channel and they are about to show a mini-series on Pillars of the Earth!! so now i MUST read it! BUT what i am realllly excitied about is that the 3rd book of The Hunger Games is coming out in August!!!! i can not wait! (i get way to excitied for books!!!)

My Favorite Finds...

Mrs. Meyers Products I love, love, love, the countertop cleaners and hand soaps. I haven't tried everything yet, but the scents I have tried are fabulous. Available in limited quantitites in some retail stores (check website for stores in your area). The seasonal scents have already sold out online. Awesome products!
French Butter Keeper I've had mine for about five years and use it almost daily. The butter is soft and spreadable at room temperature. We change the water every couple of days and wash it in the diswasher when empty.
Hand Stamped Jewelry You can find these pendants/necklaces a lot of places, but I found so many on Etsy.com that I decided to link it. These make such great gifts, especially for mothers and grandmothers. You can spend a little or a lot for a really personalized, timeless gift.
Essential Oils and Fragrance Oils I love the smell and usefulness of essential oils. I use them for cleaning and burn the fragrance oils in a diffuser. They smell amazing! My favorites are lavender, tea tree oil, lemon, peppermint, and eucalyptus. Google to see how many uses they have. They're available many places, but I linked my favorite place to buy.
The Pampered Chef Mix 'N Chop I've had this handy tool for awhile and use it most often with hamburger. I love that it's dishwasher safe and inexpensive. One of my favorite kitchen tools. I don't work for Pampered Chef and I don't mind plugging this great item for them for free. :)
Twist Sponge Cloths These things rock! It's like a paper towel, washcloth, and sponge combined. One cloth is supposed to outlast 17 rolls of paper towels. They're environmentally and economically friendly. I can't find them locally, so I order online. The Euro Sponge is great, too.
